The Adventures of Mothupi

By JB Malatji

Action & adventure, Short stories, Young adult | Paperback, eBook

Mothupi’s contended peaceful life at only 16 years old was thrown upside down when his father, mother, sisters, uncle and cousins were brutally murdered by a mob in Komati village. He was the only family member who survived the onslaught. Mothupi had to make decisions that would affect and map out his entire life. It was a painful, difficult and challenging journey for a teenage boy who had never ventured out of the comfort of his protected and loving environment. While tragic in many ways, the story in this book teaches of determination, hope, renewal, commitment and the power of forgiveness. The author writes from the African renaissance perspective and uses the story to carry readers through generational struggles, conflicts, hurts, successes and triumphs.
