Soldier Story

By Thomas Jerome Baker

Biography & memoir | eBook

I share my soldier story with you by connecting it to the larger story of the African American tradition of service to the country. Military service has always been a legitimate career option in peace, and in times of war. African Americans have historically understood how love of country and military service can be a catalyst for positive social change. For this reason, I dedicate this book to all those, "Who have dared for a high cause to suffer, resist, fight, if need be to die." ~ Elbridge S. Brooks.

Thomas Jerome Baker is the Past President of TESOL Chile. He is a veteran of 10 years of military service which he served as an enlisted soldier during the Cold War era. Written 25 years after he left active duty, this book provides a unique perspective to how Thomas views the military service as a source for positive social change for African Americans, women, and minorities.
