By September Williams

General fiction, Romance | Paperback

A Ballerina and a Powwow dancer meet in Montreal airport. They are both performing at an international youth festival in Berlin. His looks, intelligence and humor captivate her. During a long layover in Zürich, she realizes her companion is more than a heart-throb. Obsessed with waterways, natural science, history and economics are weapons in the Powwow dancer's hands. Knowing mercury extracts gold from its ore and gold backs the world’s commerce, he takes the ballerina to a Swiss Bank. Speaking French, he deposits thousands of dollars into his numbered account to which he adds her name, providing no true explanation for his actions… "Chasing Mercury" is fiction inspired by events leading to the Minamata World Convention on Mercury, signed October 2013. Spanning continents, decades and the world’s waters, the novel connects human rights, environmental justice and romance.
