A Honey-Pot of Wisdom: 15 Life and Relationship-Building Lessons from Winnie-the-Pooh

By Tatette Nitome

Personal growth, Education & teaching, Psychology & philosophy | eBook

Lessons in life can come in a lot of ways: some are taught, others acquired through sensory observation, most of which are self-learned (personal experiences as they are usually called), and still a dozen comes with age and via reading. In fact, a lot of experiences are gained from fiction and non-fiction. This could be manifested by the vast amount of quotations and paradigms that have been a part of all sorts of spoken and written undertakings, both actual and virtual. All these springing from a wide range of poems, short stories, plays and novels of different genres that are found across tangible bookshelves to computer-generated ones. All of which are applicable to every aspect of life as a source of wisdom. First appearing in 1924, Winnie-the-Pooh by Alan Alexander Milne has innocently stumbled through the Hundred Acre Wood, enrapturing friends and readers on curious and memorable adventures, and into the hearts of both young and old. While Pooh – as he is more fondly called both by the iconic Christopher Robin and his avid fans – is often seen as a soft-spoken, silly bundle of cuteness, his humbleness has led to incredibly profound wisdom over the years. Truly, the story was never meant for children and dreamers alone but for all types of minds and ages who want a lightly written piece of work to have them smiling at life. Fully. This eBook will open another realm apart from the seriousness of your workplace, house, or school. It will take you to the iconic Hundred Acre Wood not to drift into the timeless story, but to the underlying vessel-full of wisdom pre-packaged for everyone to indulge. The 15 lessons prepared for you will make you reflect on your relationships, of the very person that you are and the one you want to be.

I was born, raised, and educated in the Philippines. As a child, I enjoyed reading fairytales and rewriting them from memory, adding my own twists and conversations. Growing up, I realized that the simple words and conversations in children's books emanate so much wisdom not only children, but most certainly adults, can learn from. And I am specially enamored by A.A. Milne's Winnie-the-Pooh. I came across Pooh Bear's and Piglet's quotes and their simple conversations with their friends as I was going through a difficult time in my life, and they just struck me to the core. The simplicity and innocence of the words convey some of life's best lessons which re-energized my sagging spirit and motivated me to take a shot at life once more. This renewed inspiration prompted me to write this little eBook.
